Acro Beats: Turn up the Base!

  • Brighthelm centre North Road Brighton, England, BN1 1YD United Kingdom (map)

Jaqui and Lauren are happy to announce a collaboration, where AcroYoga meets body percussion. With the impromptu success at our workshop at the Cambridge Acro Festival last August, we want to offer up a workshop that will bring about the sounds of stomping, clapping and snapping with acrobatic balances and transitions.

Saturday 17th November 12-3PM
Brighthelm Centre, North Road, Brighton

The workshop will include body percussion drills, AcroYoga poses and transitions, techniques, and a joyful energy though rhythm, beat and tempo. Laughter guaranteed.

Due to the nature of stitching together body percussion and AcroYoga, you should have stability in the following poses without the need for a spotter: Front bird, Straddle Throne, Star, Foot to Shin.

Jaqui has in excess of 10 years of AcroYoga teaching experience, this has allowed her to address a class with different needs and levels and have them leave feeling supported and accomplished. She has a challenging yet playful style and does not take herself too seriously. She has an attention to detail that can address a group without finger pointing, with the purpose of group-based learning. She actively encourages others to shine; to her, it’s about lifting the capacity and potential of the room. Finally, she enjoys what she teaches and is an advocate for playful collaboration and

Lauren is an playful teacher, who is keen to share her love for AcroYoga. She is also a RYT200 Yoga teacher, who has taught Yoga in the UK & India. She currently teaches weekly classes in Brighton, workshops in the UK and Europe, and constantly updates her experience at European Acrobatic conventions.
